Youth Advisory Board
Youth Advisory Board is an opportunity for youth in grades 4-12 to have a say, gain leadership skills, and form positive ties to the community at the library and beyond. This crucial part of our library's leadership team will meet 1-2 times per month to plan and assist with library services and programs for children and teens.
Youth Advisory Boards consists of two committees that will meet both separately and jointly:
In the past, ingenious and successful initiatives that originated with our Youth Advisory Board include the library's annual Toast Party, as well as our youth-led collection development initiative that was nationally recognized by School Library Journal.
Service on Youth Advisory Board can be logged as volunteer/community service hours for other organizations such as school or scouts.
Those interested in serving should complete the Statement of Interest Form below. Invitations to serve can be selective.
Contact Kayla Fontaine, Head of Teen Services, or Christa Kiedaisch, Head of Children's Services with any questions.
