Our downloadable eBooks have been generously funded with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and are provided by OverDrive Media through Library Connection for our new program: Reading 2.0 for Older Adults .
This grant targets those 50 years of age and older, as eBooks and eReaders provide adjustable font size, audio capabilities and the means to check out a library book from home.
We ask for your understanding on the current restrictions with regards to this program. At the conclusion of the grant period, June 30, 2012, the downloadable eBooks and eReaders will be available for all Coventry residents.
From the OverDrive Media Site, Click on "Login First".
Choose the Booth & Dimock Memorial Library from the drop-down menu.
Enter the Barcode on the back of your Library Card. The Pin is the same as your Library password. (userpass)
Scroll Down to the Collections Area and select either "Recent Additions-eBooks" or "View all eBooks"
Check "Only Show titles with copies avaliable" and click submit.
Enter search terms if you wish.
Once you choose a book, choose the correct version and select "add to cart." Your selection will remain in your cart for 30 minutes.
Use Advanced Search to limit your results, choose your format at more!
Click Here if You Have Already Downloaded Adobe Digital Editions
First, you will need to download Adobe Digital Editions. It can be found on the left near the bottom of the page.
On the Adobe site, scroll down until you reach the install button.
Follow the instructions to install using default settings.
Select "Get an Adobe ID Online" which will open a website where you can create an Adobe Account.
Back in Adobe Digital Editions, log in using your new Adobe Account.
Congratulations, You are Ready to Download an eBook!
From your OverDrive Media Cart click on the "Proceed to Checkout"
Change your Check-Out Period if you choose and "Confirm Check-Out"
Select Download and Open with Adobe Digital Editions
Make Sure Your Device is Connected to Your Computer and Authorize it with your Adobe Account
Drag your eBook to your Device to Transfer.
Read and Enjoy!
Select "Get for Kindle"
An Amazon Window will Open in your Browser
In the Amazon Window, Select your Device from the Drop Down Menu and "Get Library Book"
Your eBook will Automatically Download, or you can Manage your Kindle if you do not have a WiFi Compatible Device

The Booth & Dimock Memorial Library is able to purchase a small number of materials to enhance the OverDrive Media collection. If you would like to see a specific book, or type of book, or author added to the collection, please let us know through the form below. You can also make requests through the suggestion box on the main desk. Please note, not all publishers provide their eBooks to OverDrive Media.
As part of the Grant for Reading 2.0 for Older Adults, the Booth & Dimock Memorial Library was able to purcahse several eReaders for patron use. We encourage you to ask our staff and try out the different eReaders to see which one is best for you. You will be asked to fill out an eReader Agreement.
1. Slide silver power tab (on top) to the right to power it on. It will revert to its original position.
2. The silver button on the front takes you to the main page.
3. To change the font, tap in the center of the screen while you are reading, then press the "AA" icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
4. Turn the unit off the same way you turned it on.
1. To turn on your Nook for the first time, press the power button on the back.
2. Drag your finger across the four arrows at the bottom of the screen to unlock the Nook.
3, From the home screen, you can go back to the book you were reading, or view all all the eBooks you have loaded on your unit.
4. While reading, tap in the center of the screen to bring up the options. Click on the "text" button to change font, size, spacing, and margins.
5. Press the power button once to put the Nook to sleep (an image of an author will appear on the screen. Hold the power button down to completely turn off the unit.
6. Be sure to refer to your Quick Start Guide, included in the kit. It is full of lots of useful information!
1. Slide power bar to the right; it will return to its original position automatically.
2. Select your language options if prompted.
3. To increase the font size, press the button under the magnifying glass icon. A menu will appear allowing you to select the size you want, from XS to XXL.
4. When you are done reading, power off the device by sliding the power bar to the right and holding it there for more than 3 seconds. The unit will prompt you to make sure you really want to turn it off.
1. The power button is a small silver button on the bottom of the unit.
2. Press the magnifying glass button to bring up the font size menu (Normal - XX Large).
3. Hold down the power button to turn the unit off.
1. Slide and release the power tab to turn the unit on or off.
2. Adjust font size by pressing the AA button and selecting your desired settings.
