Curious George is set to help your child make the
first step to reading success! The world’'s most beloved (and curious) monkey will take you and your child on a fun-filled adventure at the library where you'’ll explore the wonderful world of books.
The reading program incorporates reading and sharing books together with fun-filled activities you can do with your child to support early literacy development.
The single most important activity for raising a successful reader is reading aloud with your child!
The program is both a Read With Me program for children who do not yet read on their own, and an Early Reader program for beginning readers. Being ready to read starts with babies –- no child is too young to sign up! You can sign up via the form on the right, or call the library. Click HERE to get started!

The secret to raising a reader is simple: make reading a regular part of your child’'s world... and it’'s never too early to start!
Early literacy is what children know about reading and writing before they can actually read and write. Research has shown that there are six early literacy skills that will help prepare your child.
Each of these Activity Sheets focuses on one skill. When you reach a block on Curious George's adventure path that reads "Do An Activity Sheet," you can do any of the activities suggested. We encourage you to do these activities any time, not just as part of the Curious George Reading Program! The Activity Sheets can also be picked up at the library.
